How To Dress Like A Rocker (For Girls)

The rocker style is not hard to achieve but you can definitely tell when girls are trying way too hard.  Just remember to have fun with whatever style you wear and to always add a piece of clothing that represents who you are.  Fashion is not all about following a current trend but it's about being true to yourself and showing your personality through your wardrobe choices.

Accessories

To dress like a rocker, fedora hats in any color always favor well with the rocker crowd.  You can never go wrong with a black pinstriped fedora.  For earrings, keep it simple but bright.  Adding a pair of hot pink hoops or aqua blue stars is one way to make a statement.  For bracelets,  thin is your friend unless it’s a sweatband-bracelet.   

Makeup

Makeup differs with each girl but most girls like to play up their eyes and opt for a nude or semi-nude lipstick.  The smoky eye wins out most of the time with this trend.  Use dark browns, greys, dark blues and smoky colors.  This will play up your eyes.  If you’re not into dramatic eye makeup looks, simple black mascara and a little black eyeliner will surely do.

The shirts

Achieving the rocker style is easy if you have some plain colored v-neck shirts.  V-neck shirts make your face and neck slimmer and go with just about anything.  To give it a little style, sew or glue a patch of a favorite music band on one of sides of the shirt where your hip is or on the arm. 

The Pants

Pants are easy for this trend.  Dark skinny jeans are the top favorite.  Some companies are even offering tights that look like jeans.  If you’re not into the skinny jeans trend, opt for a plaid skirt with fishnet stockings.  Another trend is dark jean shorts that will make it less hot for the summer time.  Never wear a black shirt with black pants for this trend. 

Shoes

Shoes that are most often worn for this trend is Converse low tops.  Converse low tops may seem expensive for shoes but I guarantee you, they’ll last for years, they are so durable.  Another shoe favorite is Vans.  Vans come in all styles including slip-ons.  Another favorite is combat boots.  The only downside to wearing combat boots is that they tend to get super hot in the summer and if you wear fishnet stockings with them, they will catch on your toenails.  Wearing thin socks under your fishnet stockings will solve this problem.
